CREAMY VANILLA MOCHA ICED COFFEE
As a child my father entertained me with a lot of stories. However, when he was not in the mood to oblige my request for an entertaining tale he would begin by reciting, “Come listen to my story about a man named Jed, a poor mountaineer who barely kept his family fed, and then one day he was huntin’ for the food, and up from the ground came a bubblin’ crude! Oil that is, black gold, Texas Tea…”
I figure myself as one of the few children born after the Carter administration who is able to sing the entire Beverly Hillbillies theme song without ever once watching the show!
As an adult those lyrics still linger in my head, though I find myself questioning oil’s claim as black gold. If you ask me 5 minutes after I roll out of bed whether I want to strike oil or enjoy a hot cup of liquid sanity, I’m going to choose coffee every time. That’s my black gold!
HOW TO MAKE ICED COFFEE
Typically I drink my coffee black, but my wife has recently turned me on to iced coffee. However, it can get expensive to buy pre-made iced coffee, particularly since you can make this Creamy Vanilla Mocha Iced Coffee recipe right at home!
I found the easiest way to make this Creamy Vanilla Mocha Iced Coffee is using Folgers instant coffee. It makes the drink as quick and easy to prepare as it is delicious to drink! Simply add the instant coffee and sugar to boiling water to dissolve, then vanilla and chocolate are added for flavor and stirred with milk for creaminess. I admittedly use an aggressive amount of sugar to mimic popular coffee-chain mocha iced coffee drinks like Duncan Donuts and Starbucks, so feel free to use less if desired.

- 1 1/2 Cups Whole Milk
- 1 Cup Boiling Water
- 1 tbsp heaping Folgers Instant Coffee
- 5 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tbsp Chocolate Syrup
- Ice Cubes
Instructions
- Combine instant coffee and sugar with the boiling water and stir until dissolved.
- Add vanilla and chocolate syrup and stir to incorporate.
- Finally stir in milk and serve over ice cubes.
