Dark Chocolate Cherry Scones

These Dark Chocolate Cherry Scones were a fluke. When I went to the store last Friday to pick up a few extra things for the weekend I noticed that Publix was having a great deal on cherries. So I picked out my favorite ones & brought them home knowing that they would be my special treat since my husband isn’t a big fan of cherries.

Then that night I was craving chocolate & scones & since the cherries were just sitting there I decided to add them in too! And then I fell in love. Yes, you read that right. I am completely in love with these Dark Chocolate Cherry Scones! My husband tried one & he loved them too! Yes the same guy who doesn’t normally like cherries thought these were the best scones he had ever tasted!


Ingredients:

  • 2 & 3/4 Cups Flour + Extra for Stickiness
  • 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1 Pinch Salt
  • ¼ Cup Sugar
  • 1 Stick of Cold Butter (1/2 cup)
  • ½ Cup Half & Half or Heavy Cream – obviously the richer the better but to be “healthy” milk also works
  • ½ cup French Vanilla Creamer + 1-2 tablespoons extra   
  • ¾ Cup Chopped Dark Chocolate
  • ¾ Cup Seeded & Chopped Cherries

Ingredients:

  1. First, preheat your oven to 400° degrees, then in a bowl sift together all of the dry ingredients. 2 & 3/4 cups flour, 2 tsp baking powder, 1 pinch of salt, & ¼ cup sugar.
  2. Use your hands to crumble the butter into the dry ingredients. You want the butter crumbles to be small, about the size of a pea, & dispersed throughout the dry ingredients.
