Grandma’s French Cherry Pie

For just about as long as Mr. Mom Endeavors can remember, his grandma has been whipping up this tasty cherry pie. It’s one of his very favorite desserts – no doubt due in part to all the great memories of Grandma making it. Plus, it helps that the pie is super tasty! I have NO idea why it’s called French Cherry Pie. I’ve also seen similar versions called “Cherry Cheese Pie” or of course just good old “No Bake Cherry Cheesecake”. But, no matter what you name it, it’s SUPER yummy!

Aside from it being delicious, this pie is VERY easy to make! In fact, we hear that Grandma tries to make sure she has the ingredients on hand all the time in case she finds out about company stopping by and needs to have a treat ready! She’ll be 93 in October and still lives in her 100+ year old house in Nebraska. We were lucky enough to visit her in Nebraska recently and even though she only had about 4-5 hours notice before our arrival, she managed to make her grandson one of his favorite treats.

Right before we were heading out to drive to her house, Mr. Mom Endeavors said to me, “Oh man, I really wish we had some of Grandma’s cherry pie dessert”. We spent a few hours visiting with her and as we walked out to leave, she came out of the kitchen with this beautiful pie for us! Awww! The BEST surprise! Sweet moments like this with your 93-year-old grandma are extra special!
