REFRESHING STRAWBERRY WINE SLUSHIE

When I was younger, weekends during the summer meant cookouts with family and friends.  It didn’t matter what else was going on, it always seemed like there was a party somewhere. Whether it was at our house or my aunt or uncle’s house, we always had something to do. I’m carrying on that same tradition with my family and just about every weekend, we try to cookout with friends and family. I wanted to up my drink game for our next cookout so I made these Strawberry Wine Slushie for us to enjoy.

My husband’s family was the same way. Growing up in a latino household, you always knew there was something to do. In fact, growing up he lived around the corner from me, although we wouldn’t meet each other until adulthood. Now that I’m an adult it seems like life has gotten more hectic and busier but one thing is for sure, I want to continue to create those same memories today. So I make it a point to invite family and friends over as much as I can. In fact, I pretty much have an open door policy.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 bottle of Sutter Home Sweet Red Wine
  • 2 cups of strawberries
  • 1 cup of lemonade

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Puree strawberries in a blender until smooth. I don't like chunks so I make sure it's nice and smooth.
  2. Add wine and lemonade and blend until combined
  3. Freeze in ice cube trays until frozen.
  4. Once frozen add a few cubes to blender to make slush. If you want a more slushy drink add some ice cubes in.
