CITRUS STEAK RUB

Are you grilling out for Memorial Day? We always host a party for this holiday. Everyone (usually) has off from work, and it’s a great time to remember those that have served while also spending time with friends and family.



Memorial Day weekend is just around the corner, and it is one of the most popular grilling weekends! The weather is finally breaking, so it is time to break out the grill and warm weather clothes. You just can’t beat the flavor of grilled steak or chicken (or anything grilled for that matter!)

If your go-to is usually to marinate your steaks, try using a steak dry rub instead. Dry rubs take a fraction of the time and can impart just as much flavor. I’m pretty confident my Citrus Steak Rub is actually more flavorful than most beef marinades, actually.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 2 teaspoons lime zest
  • 2 teaspoons orange zest
  • 3 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 2 pound Certified Angus Beef® brand flank steak

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine lemon, lime and orange zest with kosher salt, white pepper and garlic.
  2. Massage onto flank steak. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 10 minutes-24 hours. Like most cuts of meat, longer is better.
