Orange Creamsicle Smoothie

This Orange Creamsicle Smoothie made with fresh oranges, Greek yogurt and flaxseed is delicious and satisfying enough for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

One of my favorite treats from the ice cream man when I was a kid was the orange creamsicle and I couldn’t tell you the last time I had one as I’m not really a fan of anything flavored orange any longer. But one afternoon I was craving a smoothie and had a lone orange laying around so I decided to make this Orange Creamsicle Smoothie.

As a kid, I remember that it was always a toss up between the bomb pop, strawberry shortcake or orange creamsicle whenever that ice cream truck came down the street. Of course, I’m talking about when I was 8 years old as you can tell by my super sweet, sugary selections.

When I got older (and of drinking age), my friend and I used to visit my grandparents who lived down the shore (the beach for all of you non-Jersey readers) where we would play penny poker and drink an alcoholic version of the creamsicle; which was made of Galiano, Triple Sec, orange juice and milk; not to mention had a lot of laughs.

  • 4 oz . Plain Greek Yogurt (0% Fat )
  • 1 tsp . Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tsp . Flaxseed Meal
  • 1 c . Ice
