Double Chocolate Macadamia Brownies

Ingredients List

  • 1 1/2 cups Gold Medal UNBLEACHED all-purpose flour (bleached flour toughens baked goods)
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp. water (1/4 cup
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 12-oz. bags chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped macadamia nuts
  • 1/3 cup chopped macadamia nuts for topping


 Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
  3. In a medium-sized saucepan over low to medium heat, combine butter, sugar and water.
  4. Bring just to a boil; remove from heat.
  5. Stir in one bag chocolate chips and vanilla.
  6. Cool slightly.
  7. Pour chocolate mixture into a large mixing bowl.
  8. Add eggs and whisk to incorporate.
  9. Add flour mixture, one bag chocolate chips and 1/2 cup macadamia nuts.
  10. Stir with a wooden spoon to combine.
  11. Pour mixture into a greased 10x15” glass baking dish.
  12. Sprinkle remaining ½ cup chocolate chips and 1/3 cup chopped macadamia nuts on top.
  13. Bake at 350° for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  14. Cool before cutting into bars.
